Horace English is widely acclaimed for his artistic singing and interpretations in operatic and concert repertoire. Performing with opera companies including: New Orleans , Ft. Worth , Houston , Beaumont , and Shreveport , as well as the Goldovsky Opera Theatre. His operatic repertoire includes the bass and bass-baritone roles in Faust, Le Nozze di Figaro, Le Boheme, Susanna, Rigoletto , and Tosca , among others. He received Shreveport Times' Drama Awards for his performances in Man of La Mancha and Sweeney Todd .
Mr. English is in demand as a recitalist and guest artist in orchestral concerts. Past seasons include Messiah , the Faure Requiem and Beethoven's Ninth Symphony .
A native of Atlanta , Georgia , English is a graduate of Shorter College and holds a Master of Church Music from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Music from Florida State University . In addition to singing career, Dr. English is Professor of Music at Centenary College of Louisiana.
