Baritone

Active in both musical theatre and opera, Curt has been seen in productions ranging from Don Pasquale and The Magic Flute, to Stephen Sondheim's A Little Night Music with Donna McKechnie and  The Three Penny Opera with Bea Arthur and Charlotte Rae. Curt appeared in the German production of Andrew Lloyd Weber's Cats, and in the 2000-2001 season he appeared on Broadway in Riverdance.

The 2003-2004 season will feature his debut with Arizona Opera as Ko-Ko in The Mikado.  He will also return to Opera Delaware as Ben in The Telephone and Papageno in The Magic Flute.  Curt is know for his highly praised interpretation of Ko-Ko in The Mikado a role he has performed with companies such as Opera Delaware (debut), Utah Festival Opera (debut), Edmonton Opera, Gold Coast Opera (debut), The National Savoyards, and Opera Northeast. In the 2004-2005 season Curt Olds sings Ko-Ko in The Mikado with Hawaii Opera Theatre and Njegus in The Merry Widow with Virginia Opera. In the future Mr. Olds sings Pirate King with Hawaii Opera Theatre.

During the 2001-2002 season, Curt made his Canadian operatic debut with Edmonton Opera as Mozart's endearing Papageno in  The Magic Flute.  In the 2002-2003 season, Curt reprised the  role in his debut with Dayton Opera. 

Other favorite operatic roles include Malatesta in Don Pasquale and the son in Kurt Weill's Seven Deadly Sins with Opera Omaha, Frank in Die Fledermaus, Dick McGann in Street Scene and Njegus in The Merry Widow, all with Central City Opera, and the Duke of Plaza Toro in Colorado Symphony's production of The Gondoliers.  Musical theatre favorites include Mr. Lindquist in A Little Night Music at North Shore Music Theatre, Frank Butler in the New Orleans JPAS production of Annie Get Your Gun, Fred in Kiss Me, Kate and Anthony in Sweeney Todd, both with MCT, Inc. and Freddy in the Bigfork Playhouse  production of My Fair Lady.

A graduate of Boston's New England Conservatory, he holds a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance/Opera. He is a past regional finalist in the Metropolitan Opera Council Auditions, a Third Prize winner in Portland Opera's Lieber Awards, and Central City Opera's 1997 McGlone Artist of the Year.
