Soprano

Holly Marsh, soprano, has been a resident of Tyler since 1982. She studied voice at Tyler Junior College with Molly McCoy. She made her Opera Longview debut in 1999 as A Giovanna in Rigoletto , and has been a member of the opera chorus since 1996. She is active in the Christ Episcopal Church Chancel Choir as soprano soloist and cantor, twice portrayed Mrs. Noah in Benjamin Britten's Noye's Fludde at Christ Church , and was soprano soloist for Christ Church' s 2004 presentation of Handel 's Messiah . Holly is a member and frequent soloist with the Tyler Chamber Chorale in classical and pops concerts, and has performed at Tyler Civic Theater in My Fair Lady and Cole! . She sang the role of the Virgin Mary in the world premiere of Conrad Susa's church opera Wise Women at the 1994 American Guild of Organists National Convention in Dallas . She has performed with the East Texas Symphony Orchestra as a chorus member in Fauré ' s Requiem , Beethoven's Symphony #9 , Strauss' Die Fledermaus , and Holst's The Planets , and was a soloist in Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music , and the "First Spirit" in the ETSO semi-staged production of Mozart's The Magic Flute . Holly holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Merchandising from Louisiana State University , and a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from The University of Texas at Tyler . She is a programmer/analyst for Key Data Systems in Tyler , is a past president of the Board of Directors of the Tyler Chamber Chorale and the Tyler Youth Orchestra, and is a sustaining member of the Junior League of Tyler, in which she held numerous leadership positions.
