PASTA AND PUCCINI, was the first event produced by the BRAVO! Opera East Texas Volunteers.

The evening of entrainment features local stars of East Texas Opera singing classical, opera, and Broadway show tunes and a pasta dinner.

Taking the name BRAVO!, which stands for Bringing Recognition to the Art of Voice through Opera, the volunteer group has a passion for opera entertainment and wants to make sure East Texas Opera is promoted to as large an audience as possible.

Other intimate parties and programs are on the drawing board. Not all events will be fundraisers. Some will be staged to honor patrons and benefactors of East Texas Opera, while others will showcase professional and amateur artists in various venues, including area homes.

A Candlelight dinner will be presented in authentic Italian style and will also feature entertainment by couples:

The money raised by the Pasta and Puccini night and other similar fund-raisers will go to help defray the expenses of the out-of-town artists who come to Longview for three weeks to produce the June opera each year.
