Opera East Texas welcomes International star Ana María Martínez. Grammy Award® winner Ana María Martínez' dramatic range distinguishes her as one of today's most sophisticated lyric sopranos. Her career spans the world's opera houses, concert halls, recording studios and movie theatres, and she continues to engage her audiences both with her signature roles and with new and exciting debuts on stage.

She will be joined by her husband Chad Shelton. This Texas native and tenor garners acclaim for his characterizations of leading roles on national and international stages. He has been hailed by Opera News for his unfailing ability to tackle "high-flying tessitura without even a flicker of strain," and by the Rocky Mountain News for having a voice that "rang with assurance and accuracy."
